MASTERS FOOTBALL INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT

Masters Football Malta will write another golden page in its history, holding the first international tournament in Malta which should be very attractive to local football lovers.

The tournament with five teams will be held next Saturday, 12 January at the Qormi Football Complex.

Played on the ‘round robin’ system, the first two games wil start at 10am. It is expected that the final with the two best finishers will take place at about 14.00 pm. Malta will be fielding a strong team.

Coach Charles Agius will wil be guiding the followig squad: Brian Said (captain), Marlon Briffa, Cedric Sciberras, Gilbert Scerri, Simon Shead, Sean Sullivan, Anthony Micallef, Jeffrey Cethcuti, Malcolm Camilleri, Carlo Mamo, Massimo Schembri, Jeffrey Zammit, James Galea and Micaled Galea.

The English team taking part, Braywood Beavers FC possess the following players, Allan Donaldson (captain), Jim Warren, Bob Brindley, Richard Wakeman, Ash Gillard, John Bishop, Giles Ballard, David Crofts, Dave Hill, Andy Bailes, Paul Stewart.

The team with players from Nigeria, well known in Malta will have Orosco Anonam as captain, Chucks Nwoko, Ndibuisi Chukynere, Haruna Doda, Amin Utul, Henry Ekenzie, Peter Ohaka, Ryad Gangorssta, Victor Egere, Joe ikIekwu, Uchenna Anywanna

Another team that should be strong and attractive with some very talented players would be that composed of foreign players taking part with Maltese teams in the Masters competitions, lead by Alexander Ribic.

The fifth team is that of Gozo veterans which should offer good opposition to any team.

The tournament is being held in aid of the Community Chest Fund.

Domestic Leagues To Continue

After the stoppage we had during the festive period, play will be back to normal, with the first games of the second round.
