HIBS CLOSE GAP ON GZIRA

Hibernians moved two points behind Premier League leaders Gzira United after a comfortable 4-0 win over Mosta on Saturday.

Earlier, Gzira United had to thank Brazilian striker Jorginho who two minutes into time added on salvaged a point in their 1-1 draw to Pieta Hotspurs, to remain the only team unbeaten in the campaign.

The Paolites opened the scoring after 21 minutes into the match when Nicolas Correa Taylon beat goalkeeper Andreas Vella, while on 37 minutes doubled their lead courtesy of Tiago Adan Fonseca.

After the break Hibernians continued to dictate the affairs and on 66 minutes made it 3-0. While on 90 minutes substitute Francesco Costa Tenorio Guttiner grabbed his side’s fourth.

Elsewhere Tarxien Rainbows beat bottom club Senglea Athletic 2-1, while St. Andrews defeated Balzan Youths 2-0.
