AGONES DUO RETURN FROM SPAIN

Agones Sfc cyclists Ryan Spiteri and Kenneth Caruana returned from Spain Aafter taking part in the ‘Costa Del Sol Granfondo’.

The 133km road cycling race, with an elevation gain of 3,500m set off from the scenic coastline of Estepona and headed into the mountainous region of Andalucía.

Close to one thousand cyclists took part in the race. Both riders managed a very respectable time with Spiteri finishing in the top 200.

For Caruana this was his first international granfondo. Interviewed after the race, Caruana spoke about the beautiful scenery and the tough long climbs the cyclists had to endure.

Spiteri, who is more accustomed to those endeavors underlined the tricky weather conditions they encountered during their six-hour ride to the finishing line.

The weather fluctuated from thirty degree heat with a humidity of over 85% to rainy climbs and cold windy decants.

Both riders were extremely satisfied with their performance and thanked Agones Sfc for providing them with this opportunity.

Agones Sfc president Warren Muscat who was present in the role of team manager, explained how the Costa del Sol Granfondo was the first of many international commitments that club will be taking part in the 2018/19 season and encouraged all cycling enthusiasts who are looking at those sorts of challenges to contact Agones sfc ([email protected]) and become members.
