CHETCUTI WINS CASSAR CUP

Gianluca Chetcuti, the young shooter who just switched from Double Trap to Trap, was the overall winner of the Cassar Cup.

This prestigious trophy has been organized by the Malta Shooting Federation for the last century. The event was on 50 clays trap, with the top six shooters to qualify for the final stages to determine the podium places.

Gianluca Chetcuti placed 1st with 20-24-27-31-40+shoot off +3
Nazzareno Attard placed 2nd with 19-23-28-33-40+shoot off +2
George Mifsud placed 3rd with 18-22-26-30.
Chris Vella placed 4th with 18-23-26.
Nicky Carabott placed 5th with 18-21.
Eugenio Borg placed 6th with 18.

In the meantime MSSF shooters Mikaela Galea, William Chetcuti, Brian Galea and Mario Buhagiar are competing at The ISSF World Championships 2018 Changwon Korea.

On her first day Mikaela Galea did well with 21, 22 and a perfect straight of 25/25 placing 8th in The Ladies Junior Trap Event. She will continue tomorrow on another two rounds of qualifications.

The other three shooters are competing in the Men Trap event were:

William Chetcuti managed 21/25,a perfect straight of 25/25 and a 23/25 for a total of 69/75
Brian Galea managed 22/25, 18/25, 24/25 for a total of 64/75
Mario Buhagiar managed 22/25, 22/25 and 19/25 for a total of 63/75.

They also have another two rounds on Monday for a total of 125 clays.
