VALLETTA KNOCKED OUT

Valletta were knocked out from the Uefa Europa League by Zrinjski on a 3-2 aggregate after losing the return match of the second qualifying round 2-1 at the Centenary Stadium on Thursday.

The visitors went into the lead after 30 minutes into the match when Hrvoje Barišić beat the Maltese goalkeeper Henry Bonello.

Five minutes after the break the Bosnians finished with ten man when Marin Galić collected his second yellow card and so was sent off for an early shower.

On 56 minutes the Citizens leveled the matters courtesy of defender Steve Borg but 11 minutes later Serbian midfielder Milos Filipović scored the match winner.
