The Malta Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (MFBBF) has achieved fantastic results as its athletes obtained a gold and a silver medal at the IFBB European Championships 2018 recently held in Santa Susanna - for this grand happening dubbed ‘the fitness capital of the world’ - in Spain.

The International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) is the governing body of the sport of bodybuilding and fitness.

At this four day event, over 1100 participants showcasing the best physiques in the European continent and representing over 40 countries, battled for a podium place in what is considered to be one of the most prestigious international bodybuilding and fitness competition in the world.

Over 90 international judges were tasked with assessing this magnificent showcase of beauty and perfect physiques, in the various sport’s categories.

MFBBF athletes display fantastic physiques and constantly achieve respectable results in all international IFBB competitions, and so again this time.

She stood out with her combination of beauty and a flawless physique sculpted to the exact requirements of her category - perfect bodylines and proportions, a healthy and attractive appearance and an athletic and aesthetically pleasing physique.

With this victory she was awarded professional status and will compete now in the official IFBB professional competition, known as the IFBB PRO Elite.

Malta’s own 2018 National Overall Champion Carlos Caruana took home the silver medal in the bodybuilding masters category up to 80 kg. He displayed a remarkable proportional build physique with balanced and harmonious muscle size, as well as extraordinary muscle quality and detail.

Other noteworthy placings of Maltese athletes at this event have been of Rodrick Theuma, who achieved a sixth place in the Seniors Bodybuilding up to 80 kg category, and Sabrina Micallef who achieved a 9th place in the Masters Bodyfitness category.
