Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi continued on Sunday with an activity of the Motocross National Championship 2017/18.

For this competition 21 competitors divided into three classes registered for this race held at Ta Qali ASMK Sports Complex.

During the day in Class A where riders with experience and skills in this field compete, we saw Kyle Camilleri on his KTM to dominate the qualification race.

During this pre-race event Kyle was followed by Carmelo Borg on his Honda and Clayton Camilleri on a KTM. During the following two other Heats which count for the day’s Championship Points Kyle Camilleri register a record lap time and also won the first Heat.

But in the second Heat it was Klye’s brother Clayton Camilleri who won this Heat ahead of Kyle Camilleri who finished in second place.

The Final Result of the day for this Class A states that Clayton is declared as the winner and followed by his brother Kyle Camilleri. Both Camilleri’s compete on KTM motorcycles while third placed Carmel Borg rides on a Honda.

Fourth place is awarded to Stefan Dimech on his Honda while fifth placed James Zahra rides a Sherco MX Bike.

In Class B we saw Bernard Sammut on his sponsored Beta to dominate this class where he managed to win both the qualifying and the Heats of the day.

In the final day’s results Sammut was followed by Daniel Caruana on a Honda while third placed rider is Christopher Hartmann on a KTM. Fourth and fifth places were won by Krist Falzon and Michael Sant respectively both riding on Husqvarna motorcycles.

In the Veterans Class is held for riders of the age of 40 years and more but who are still able to ride motocross in competition. In this class we again saw Paul Deguara on his KTM win this class. In the Final Classification Paul is followed by Andrew Cassar on KTM. Third placed rider is Daniel Bonnici on a KTM.

Meanwhile the activities of the Association are to continue during next week. On Thursday 15th February a meeting and race registration is organized for those competitors who wish to participate in the ‘Mini Car Demolition’ to be held on 18th March 2018 at Ta’ Qali.

On Saturday 17th February ASMK will be holding the Race Final of the Autocross Class A which was postponed on Sunday 26th November 2017.

This race is being held at the Ta’ Qali Sport Complex and starts at 3, 00pm. Admission to this race final is free for all.

On Sunday 18th February ASMK will be organizing another motorcycle race from the WotoMoto National Enduro Championship for 2017/2018.

This event which is open also to non-ASMK members is to take place at the Fawwara Hardrocks Quarry and starts at 10. 00am.

Registration opens at 09. 00am.
