MUSCAT WINS TRAP TROPHY

Veteran shooter Peter Muscat claimed the Trap Trophy held at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club on Sunday.

This event was organised on two rounds of 25 clay targets each, where the six highest ranked athletes in the qualification rounds advanced to the Final of another five knock out stages from a single shot starting from zero.

Peter Muscat was on top form this Sunday as he had the best qualification score and earned Bib No 1 to with, in the final stages.
Joining Muscat on the podium were Joe Xuereb and John Marmara as they placed in second and third floor overall.

This Sunday’s Final Stages results were:

1st Peter Muscat 21/25 + 4/5 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 6/10, total score 38/50
2nd Joe Xuereb 19/25 + 4/5 + 2/5 + 3/5 + 7/10, total score 35/50
3rd John Marmara 17/25 + 4/5 + 3/5 + 4/5, total score 28/40
4th Emmanuel Zammit 17/25 + 3/5 + 3/5, total score 23/35
5th Christopher Farrugia 18/25 + 2/5, total score 20/30
6th Rudolph Zammit 13/25, total score 13/25

The top three Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualification rounds with the following scores:

Class A
1st Joe Xuereb 42/50
2nd Emmanuel Zammit 41/50
3rd Sean Rizzo 40/50

Class B
1st Peter Muscat 43/50
2nd John Marmara 42/50
3rd Rudolph Zammit 41/50

Class C
1st Christopher Farrugia 41/50
2nd George Polidano 40/50
3rd Reno Gatt 36/50

The MSSF Shotgun Trap programme will continue on Saturday 27th and Sunday, 28th January at the Bidnija Ranges with the second selection shoot for the ISSF World Cup Changwon, Korea and the first out of four selection shoots for the first-ever ISSF World Cup to be held in Malta at the new Ta’ Kandja Shooting Complex in Siggiewi.
