LA SALLE, SWIEQI PHOENIX JOINT TOP

Swieqi Phoenix and La Salle are leading the men’s scoreboards with three wins each out of four games, following a close draw during their game on Saturday.

Meanwhile, in the Women’s Division, Aloysians, Swieqi and La Salle are fighting for pole-position with 9 points each, following three wins and a loss out of four games played since November.

“Our teams came back from the holidays on fire, starting the new year with fast-paced high-scoring games. I’m glad to see the quality of local handball improve each season, which also goes to show the benefits of our continuous investment in the sport, such as coaching and refereeing courses, is leaving an impact,” says MHA Marketing Director, Orlando Bonnici.

Swieqi Phoenix are the highest scoring team in the Men’s Division so far, leading with 111 goals and followed by Aloysians 102 goals.

In the Women’s Division, Aloysians lead by a total of 104 goals scored in a total of 4 games, followed by Swieqi Phoenix with 99 goals.

Both Men and Women Handball League started in November will end in May.

La Salle will face Aloysians Women this Saturday at 12:30pm inside the University Sports Complex, Tal-Qroqq.
