YOUTH EUROPEAN MATCHES FOR VOLLEYBALL REFEREES

Maltese volleyball referees Frankie Tanti and Nello Calleja have been appointed by the European Volleyball Confederation (CEV) for three international tournaments.

Frankie Tanti will be officiating in the group hosted by the Italian Volleyball Federation and which will see Austria, Croatia, Italy and Poland participating in Group B from the Women’s U/17 competition.

This tournament will be played at the PalaBassano2 in Bassano del Grappa, in Northeast Italy. Seven other tournaments will be played around Europe to determine the eleven teams to join Bulgaria for the Final Round in April.

Nello Calleja will also be involved in one of the other groups from the same competition, Group F, which will be held in Cherkasy, Ukraine. The other teams competing in this group will be Greece and Latvia.

Moreover, the Ukrainian Volleyball Federation will be hosting, at the same time, a qualifying group from the Men’s U/18 European Championship.

In this tournament, Georgia, Hungary and Turkey will be joining hosts Ukraine to try and qualify for the Final tournament which will be played in the Czech Republic and Slovakia later on in 2018.
