Kyle Mercieca has been invited to join the Italian Competitive Kart Racing (CKR) team in the X30 class of the SuperKarts USA SuperNationals 21, being held in Las Vegas, USA, between Wednesday, 15th and Sunday, 20th November.

This is the 21st edition of the SuperNationals, and it will be the first ever time that Malta will be represented by a Maltese kart racing driver.

Kart racing drivers from 50 different countries are expected to take part in the 10 different karting classes.

The entry fee for the X30 Senior class is $1,150 (one thousand one hundred and fifty US dollars!) – this includes the driver’s pit pass and two (2) sets of Evinco racing tyres.

The classes taking part are the S1, S2, S4, S4SM, KZ, Micro Swift and Mini Swift, and the X30 Junior, X30 Senior and X30 Master.

The 16-year old will be one of the 88 drivers in the X30 Senior class. A total of 616 drivers will be taking part in classes of either 44 drivers or 88 drivers!

This year the event is being held in the 1.25 million square foot ‘Diamond” lot next to the popular Las Vegas Strip where all the hotels and casinos of the Las Vegas Convention Center are located, and in the shadows of the Westgate Las Vegas Hotel Resort and Casino.

The track is 8/10 of a mile long with 14 turns and corners. In addition to the long start and finish straight, the track has two 180-degree turns, in addition to a few sweeping corners, a few hairpins and a number of tight turns to challenge all the novice and experienced drivers. The track has an excellent surface for grip.

Kyle will be travelling a little earlier to the event to Italy to undergo some training, and then he will fly to Las Vegas.

This is going to be an event that he will certainly find very hard to forget!

All the local kart racing followers wish Kyle to enjoy himself and the best of luck and success.
