FOUR MALTESE PLAYERS IN SCOTLAND

Four Maltese table-football players competed in the Grand Prix of Scotland which was held in Glasgow in the weekend.

Massimo Cremona and Angelo Borg competed in the Open Category while Jason Pisani and Joe Mifsud competed in the Veteran Category.

In the Veteran Category both Joseph Mifsud and Jason Pisani managed to win their respective group. They had continued to progress into the competitions until they meet against each other in the semi-finals.

The game between Joseph Mifsud and Jason Pisani ended in a draw of 1-1. During the extra time Joe Mifsud scored the winning goal which had placed him in the final against the Belgian Daniel Scheen.

The final was well contested from both parties and in the last 5 min Joe Mifsud managed to score the winning goal to beat Daniel sheen 2 -1.

In the Open Category both Angelo Borg and Massimo Cremona managed to win their respective group. They had continued to progress into the competitions until they meet against each other in the final.

The game between Angelo Borg and Massimo Cremona end din a draw of 1-1. During the extra time both Angelo and Massimo had tried to close the game but the score remained unchanged.

The game ended in a draw then the final had to be decided on shots. Massimo managed to win with the final by scoring only one goal. Hence Massimo had won the Open Category 2-1 after the shoots.

All four Maltese players done well by placing themselves in top places in this tournament, which was organised under the auspices of the Federation of International Sports Table Football (FISTF).
