MKF ATHLETES CLAIM 29 MEDALS IN UK

Malta Karate Federation (MKF) athletes claimed an astonishing 29 medals, in which ten were gold, at the Chojinkai Open Karate Championships held in Penrith Cumbria on Sunday.

The group was made up of 50 athletes, aged between 8 and 15.

Athletes from La Salle Karate Club and Zebbug Karate Club, both clubs forming part of the Malta Karate Federation took part in Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring) and landed an astonishing 29 medals - 13 Gold, 9 Silver and 9 Bronze.

Sensei Joe Tanti and Sensei Josef Antonelli accompanied the athletes.

The Maltese athletes gave consistent performances, which augur well for the future.
