AWDC MEMBERS AT THE ULTRA4EUROPE CHAMPIONSHIP

Members of the All Wheel Drive Club took part in the Ultra4Europe Championship, which takes place in different locations through Europe, with multi nations competing at the events.

The nations competing are French, Polish, British, Italians, Belgians, Portughese, Azerbajan, Finland, Norwegians, Swedish, Dutch and Maltese.

The King of France kicked started the championship this year in May at Le Ferte Gaucher, South East Paris.

Maltese Neville Ciantar, known by his nickname Nusu, and his team competed in which they placed fourth, gaining 10 points.

The next event was the King of Italy, which took place in Varano de Melegari in Parma in June. There Nusu placed fourth once again gaining another 10 points.

The third event was held in Vimioso in Portugal in September and due to large expenses to ship the racing vehicle, Nusu did not make it.

Without sponsors this race is very difficult to reach. Since Nusu did not make this race, he lost a podium position in the final Ultra4Europe Championship 2016, just like the previous year in 2015 when he lost a 3rd place in the championship because he could not get to Portugal.

The final race, the King of Britain, was held in Bovington, Dorset last weekend. Nusu placed 3rd after a 300km race based over Saturday and Sunday with a prologue on Friday, where he crossed the finish line on his front two wheels.

He gained 12 points in the King of Britain which gave him 32 points in total to put him fourth off the podium, only 2 points below 3rd podium place held by Belgian competitor in the Ultra4Europe Championship 2016.

There were a total of 48 registered competitors at King of Britain and there were 3 classes, Ultra, Legends, Modifieds.

Every Ultra4Europe event falls under the crown of Ultra4Racing of the USA, where the famous Californian King of the Hammers was born.

Dave Cole is the founder and Director of this race series and he is assisted throughout Europe by Richard Crossland.
