SENIOR'S CHAMPIONSHIP GETS UNDERWAY

The 19th annual Senior’s Open Championships got underway on Wednesday in which over 100 tenpin bowlers compete for price fund of €20,000, as well as the prestigious title of Seniors Open champion.

From the first tournament held back in 1998, the senior open has grown to officially be the biggest tenpin bowling event of the year. This year’s participants are travelling to Malta from no fewer than 16 countries.

The countries represented are Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, Netherlands, Scotland, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales and obviously Malta.

The format of the tournament starts off with a twelve-game qualifying round, where the top 28 bowlers will qualify for the next final stages.

The next four final stages on Sunday afternoon will determine who will be the TWO bowlers who will go head-to-head in the Grand Final.

This year’s edition is organised in collaboration with Casino Malta.
