TEAM MALTA SETS NEW NATIONAL RECORDS

Malta has taken part in the 2016 European Men Championships, which were held in Brussels, Belgium.

Each country sends a team of six top bowlers to the event, and Team Malta was selected over a qualification matrix covering 64 games, with the top ranked bowlers qualifying for the team.

The team was made up of Paul Baldacchino (Captain), Rankin Camilleri, Mauro Anastasi, Mark Spiteri, Mark Muscat and Kenneth Arpa.

The 2016 edition of the championships saw a record participation of 37 countries and 220 players.

The highlight of the Championships is the team event held over two days. After a slow start in the first game, Team Malta managed to shift their game up a gear, and ended the block by setting two new National records of 1099 team game and 3042 team series. The previous team records stood since the 2008 World Cup in Bangkok.
