MALTA SCORES AMAZING 35-34 WIN OVER BELGIUM

Malta have scored a sensational 35-34 victory against Belgium at the famous Carnegie Headingley Stadium in Leeds, England on Sunday afternoon.

The match see-sawed and with Malta always in control, the Belgian clawed back despite trailing by 20 points earlier in the match, to tie the game at 34-all until Malta vice-captain Danny Burke kicked a field goal to put Malta up by one, a lead they would hold onto in dramatic circumstances after Jean-Pierre Zarb took an intercept on his own line to stop the Belgians from winning the match in the dying seconds.

Malta's tries included two (2) from captain Malcolm Attard, and 1 try from each James Redman, Sam Blyton-Keep, Jake Lynch and Blake Phillips. Sam Blyton-Keep capped off a 14-point haul in also kicking five from six conversions.

The Headingley crowd adored the Malta team who earned themselves a new legion of fans today.
