BADMINTON CLUB ACTIVITY IN SCHOOLS

The Msida Arrows Badminton Club (MABC) is very active in the development of local junior and youth talent, particularly at scholastic level.

As part of its strategy in this regard, one of the club's better junior players recently conducted a number of training sessions at the St. Monica School in Gzira.

Michela Lia (photo) has been actively training and playing Badminton for a number of years. In addition to her participation in local national competitions, Michela has also competed abroad under the Msida Arrows colours.

Each training session lasted just under 90 minutes and was attended by thirteen students, aged 14-15 years.

Michela provided these students with a detailed theoretical and practical overview of the main Badminton strokes, based on effective footwork, for both Singles and Doubles play. She also explained the basic "Rules of the Game".

The overall event was coordinated by the school's PE teacher, Ms. Christina Chetcuti.

MABC expressed its satisfaction and support at Michela's initiative whilst encouraging other Club players to follow her footsteps.

The Club reiterated its commitment to continue providing local schools with such opportunities in order to develop the standard of the budding talent among their respective students.
