FOURTH SHARP SHOT TOURNAMENT A SUCCESS

Sharp Shot Table Tennis School recently celebrated the festive season by holding the fourth Sharp Shot tournament together with the most awaited parent/student doubles competition, which for the past two years has also been organized in aid of L–Istrina.

A manifestation of Table Tennis under one roof,Sharp Shot on the day proudly presented certificates to its students who in summer traveled to the Werner Schlager Academy in Austria, as seen in the photo left to right, Sacha Pace, Amy Degaetano, Gabriel Melillo, Jessica Pace, Luke Cassar, broadened their knowledge and international experience at the no1 elite training centre in Europe. The presentation was made by Julian Holland.

The 4th Sharp Shot edition was split into categories, standing on the podium in 3rd position for the Beginners was Andreas Cremona followed by 2nd position Alister Fava and 1st place Luke Sammut.

In the Plate category Haylie Bartolo finished 3rd, Julian Seguna 2nd and Claude D Amato 1st. The Advanced/Intermediate category players battled for a place on the podium, finally it was Christian Degorgio who placed 3rd, Sacha Pace 2nd and Karl Wismayer 1st.

Meanwhile the parents who took to the playing courts, alongside their son/daughter, pulled out their skills in a round robin doubles event which was overlooked by Sharp Shot tournament director Mark Zammit IU.

With three places to be occupied on the podium the final standings were, in 3rd position Matthew & Kevin Camilleri, 2nd place Amy & James Degaetano and winners Luke & Bernard Cassar.

Sharp Shot have entered nine teams into the Malta Table Tennis Association National league 14/15,and director and Head Coach of the Academy David Pace said: “for the development of our students this is a natural and logical move, our young and mature players are exposed to a different environment, variety of opponents, they are able to set more specific goals and targets both as individuals and as a team representing our organization”.

Table Tennis schools, nurseries, academies, centres and clubs exist all around the world, Sharp Shot believes that ultimately focusing on the individual will lead to the destination desired, that is, to develop the maximum potential in each and every one under its guidance.
