EUROPEAN APPOINTMENTS FOR VASSALLO

Malta basketball referee Bernard Vassallo will return to European action in the coming days after receiving further FIBA Europe nominations.

In fact Vassallo will travel to France this week so that, on Wednesday 26th November, he will referee the game valid from the fourth day of competition from Group B of the FIBAEurope EuroLeague which will be played in the Palais des Sports du Prado between the French national champions Bourges and the Turkish outfit Agu Spor Kayseri.

Fenerbahce are leading Group B with three wins after three rounds of games with Bourges lying second with two wins. Kayseri have a single victory, obtained last week at home against Spanish champions Salamanca.

The officiating crew for this game, apart from Vassallo who is the crew chief, will consist of Chris Dodds (Scotland) u Aso Jermno (Sweden).

Next week, Vassallo will be then travelling to Belgium to referee two games. On Tuesday 2nd December, he will officiate the game, in the Lotto Arena in Antwerp, valid from Group G of the FIBA Euro Cup between hosts Antwerp and the French side Nantes.

On the next day, Wednesday 3rd December, Vassallo will again be in action when he will this time officiate the game in Waterloo valid from Group E of the FIBA Euro Cup between Castors Braine and the French team Carolo Basket.

Vassallo’s officiating crew for these two games in Belgium, where he is once again crew chief, will consist of Gavin Williams (Great Britain) and Michel Glod (Luxembourg).
