MARSA KEEP MARCHING ON

Marsa White Stars maintained their chances of winning the title of MAPFRE/MSV Life Masters Premier League after beating champions Mosta 14-11.

It was a difficult and delicate game for Marsa who are stil unbeaten. The game in general was classical one and entertaining, with a good number of goals and the result uncertain up to the end. It all depends now on the direct games between the first three in the standings, as it is beween the last three regarding the relegaton.

The big surprise of the league up to now, finding champions Mosta fighting to avooid relegatin after winning all competitons but one last season. Marsa were a little better having also experienced players with James Galea scoring five and Gilbert Scerri getting four. Marsa besides havng a complete disciplined team is also the most consisent.

In the other game, Mosta lost 8-5 against Rabat, but they deserved better and were very unfortunate. At least they deserved a draw. It was an interesting game, and both teams remained determined till the end to win the game In the last minutes when it seemed the game will end in a draw, in the last two minutes Rabat got three goals to register their second win.

DINGLI DESANA easily beat B’KARA 11 – 3 to keep three points behind Marsa in the standing. It will be most awaited and interesting the game between Marsa and Dingli on the 23rd of this month.

Dingli were superior and scored freely, with Simon Shead scoring seven to go top again in the list of the best scorers. B’kara again were a big disappointment and they must show a great progress if they want to avoid relegation.

From the CISK Division One Masters League, Zabbar Masters are still waiting for their first win, but surely they deserved better than losing 5-4 against TARGA GAP.

The were very unfortunate. The team was strenghted with some new players, and they improved their play. Going for the break they were leading 2-1.

In the second half the game changed ends and Targa Gap were now a little better. After the score of 3-2 in their favour, Zabbar lost control to let their opponents score three consecutive goals to go 5-3 on top. A goal at the end by Zabbar was not enough to save the game.

JIVAL lost their third consecutive game, but at the other end, this was the first win registered by Tal-Qroqq. Jival in the last games were very disappointing. Arguments between their own players is doing a lot of harm to the team and this should not be tolerated any longer.

Tal-Qroqq had lately been showing great progress and this is getting results and augurs well for the future. The team is well organised with disciplined players and they must keep showing enthusiasm no matter what is the result is in the end. Karl Leonardi is their class player and he shines in every game.
