HIBS TOO GOOD FOR GZIRA

Reigning champions Hibernians registered an important win after beating Gzira United 2-0, while St. Andrews stunned Floriana with 1-0 victory on Saturday.

The Paolites opened the scoring early into the match when after five minutes skipper Clayton Failla beat the Maroons custodian.

After the break on 53 minutes Hibernians doubled their advantage when Portuguese striker Joao Moreira headed past goalkeeper Haber from a Giorgi Gorozia's free-kick.

After this result Hibernians moved third with 31 points, six behind leading duo Balzan Youths and Valletta.

Earlier Naxxar Lions defeated Lija Athletic 4-0, while Mosta beat Tarxien Rainbows 1-0, meanwhile St. Andrews stunned Floriana with a 1-0 win, with the Saints goal coming in the first-half when on 29 minutes they were given a penalty from which Kemar Reid made no mistake.
