VALLETTA REMAIN UNBEATEN

Valletta remained unbeaten after putting aside the stiff challenge of Zabbar 4-3 in an entertaining game from the CISK Division One Masters League.

They remain firm favourites to win the title and gain promotion to the Premier Division. With both teams featuring some new players, the game was balanced all the way. It was only in the last seconds that Valletta scored the winner, after Zabbar had made a great come back and got even 3-3.

Zabbar were very unlucky to suffer the winning goal by Valletta in the last 10 seconds, scored by new comer Martin Sammut.
From the same competition, TAL-QROQQ and TARGA GAP played an entertaining game and shared the spoils 5-5.

This was the third draw result by Tal-Qroqq, and they were so near to get their first win. They were leadinng when they went for the break 3-2 and early in the second half they were 5-2 infront with Karl Leonardi playing an excellent game.

However, in the last quarter they were over powered by Targa Gap that had come back very strongly scoring three consecutive goals to get a deserved draw.

JIVAL lost again, being beaten by a lively MELITA side 7 – 4. Melita who had top scorer of the league Michael Galea missing, showed their class and superioity in the second half scoring five with man of the match Timothy Ellis getting a hat-trick.

Melita are now second in the standing and they seem strong enough to keep their challenge for the title and promotion, altough the latter is their primary aim, Jival as usual made the usual mistakes and their coach and those responsible for the team, should try to stop their players from arguing amongs themselves. This is happening in every game and is letting the team down.

The game from the MAPFRE/MSV Life Masters Premier League, finished with WARDIJA beating a new look B’KARA 9-6.

The first half was balanced finishing 3-3. However the second half changed a lot, and B’Kara were let down by some great mistakes at the back, and Wardija who had Michael Borg Olivier in great form took the opportunity to dominate and scoring six consecutive goals, after b’Kara had taken a lead of 5-3.

With this win Wardija now go top of the standings with Marsa, but the latter has two games in hand, B’Kara has to improve their play if they want to evade being relegated to Division One.
