MALTA TO KICK OFF AGAINST FAROE ISLANDS

Malta will kick off their UEFA Nations League commitments with an away match against Faroe Islands on Friday, 7th September.

The fixture list for the group phase of the inaugural Nations League has just been published by UEFA.

Malta’s first home match in this new competition will be against Azerbaijan on Monday, 10th September.

In October, the national team, led by coach Tom Saintfiet, have two away assignments from Group D3 – against Kosovo on Thursday, 11th, and against Azerbaijan three days later.

Malta will conclude their group commitments with two home matches in November.

On Saturday, 17th November, 2018, the Maltese side host Kosovo before facing the Faroe Islands in the final group match on Tuesday, 20th November, 2018.

The winners of Group D3, along with the top teams in the other three groups of League D, will qualify for the semi-final play-offs, scheduled to be played in March 2020.
