FLORIANA PAY THE PENALTY AS HIBS BACK TO WINNING WAYS

A second-half penalty scored by Jorginho Pereira Da Silva was enough for Hibernians to beat Floriana 1-0, while in the other Sunday’s match Birkirkara defeated Mosta 3-0.

Hibernians 1-0 Floriana

After a goalless first-half, Hibernians scored what to be the match winner when on 76 minutes were given a penalty after the Greens goalkeeper Akpan brought down substitute Giorgi Gorozia and from the resultant kick Brazilian striker Jorginho Pereira Da Silva made no mistake.

Eight minutes later Floriana went very near to level the matters when the Paolites scorer Jorginho cleared of the line with goalkeeper Andrew Hogg beaten.

Birkirkara 3-0 Mosta

Birkirkara forged ahead on 40 minutes when Srdjan Dimitrov headed pastMosta’a goalkeeper Vella, while after the break on 56 minutes the Stripes doubled their lead through Bruno Andrade Fernandez de Brito.

Four minutes later Birkirkara made sure of the three points when Jake Grech grabbed his side;s third and also their fifth win in a row.
