The Masters Football League returned after the festivies period with Jival winning again to remain unbeaten, while Wardija had to struggle to beat Rabat.

In the Cisk Division One, Jival registered an important win against Zabbar Masters to remain unbeaten with a good squad that have all the credentials to go further and challenge for the title.

The game in itself, was of good standard, played in the best of spirits. Most of the first half that finished 1-1 it was balanced with both goalkeepers giving an excellent performance.

Early in the game Zabbar opened the score after nine minutes and Jival getting the draw by Isaac Unigwe, one of their best players.

After the break Zabbar again scored first, but Jival with their player Jean Pierre Abdilla scoring a hat-trick seemed sure winners when they went infront 6-3.

However, in the last eight minutes Zabbar scored twice, but there ws no time to save the game.

In the same competition MELITA CELTICS registered a handsome win against Tal-Qroqq to go first in the standings with Valletta, but the citizens have two games at hand.

Melita deserved their win with Michael Galea again being one of the protoganists scoring another two goals to increase his tally at the top scorers list.

The good combination of the Melita team, having some very skillful players was too much for Tal-Qroqq in the second half. Here,Tal-Qroqq were dominated and kept in their area.

In the MAPFRE/MSVLife Masters Premier League, Wardija managed to gain three important points beating Rabat 6-5. It was a close game full of tension, played in continuous heavy rain. Wardija found it very hard against such a determined side.

Rabat won the first half 4-3, but then Wardija, changed their tactics, and when they took a lead of 6-4 in the second half, it seemed all over.

However, Rabat closed the gap to 6-5, and tried as they could, they found a great wall in defence with William Barbosa, Steve Wellman and Eric Saliba dominating at the back.
