HIBS TOO GOOD FOR TARXIEN

Hibernians moved three points behind leaders Balzan Youths and Valletta when on Sunday beat neighbours Tarxien Rainbows 3-0 at the National Stadium.

The reigning champions broke the deadlock on 23 minutes when Jurgen Degabriele headed past goalkeeper Christian Cassar from a Marco Sahanek’s corner.

Ten minutes after the break the Paolites went very near to double their lead when a Jorge Elias dos Santos header hit the crossbar with goalkeeper Cassar beaten.

But on 78 minutes Hibernians made it 2-0 courtesy of substitute Marquinho Antonio Filho Morgon who shot past goalkeeper Cassar, while seven minutes later the Paolites made sure of the three points when Johann Bezzina grab his side’s third.
