DINGLI SEE OFF CHAMPIONS

MAPFRE/MSV Life Masters Premier League Dingli Desana beat reigning champions Mosta 12-3 to keep in touch with leaders Marsa.

Dingli went for the break leading 2-1 in a balanced first half when Mosta scored first with Dingli scoring twice in the last five minutes by Malcolm Licari.

Mosta goalkeeper, Vanyo Mirchev denied Dingl from more goals. No one expected that Mosta were to be dominated in the second half with Dingli scoring at ease.

Licari being their best scorer with five goals and Simon Shead adding another three to his tally as top scorer.

In the Cisk Masters Division One, Melita had an excellent week winning two games in a space of four days, beating Targa Gap 9-3 and Zurrieq Wolves 8-2 to finish their first round commitments and move second in the standing.

The team showed class, and did evey thing with confidence. They play as a team, with good coordination and distribution. Besides they have experienced players like Michael Galea, Brian Said, Sean Sullivan and Matthew Naudi, they all make the difference.

With such performances they must be considered to finish somewhere at the top and get promoted. Michael Galea ex B’Kara player in the MFA Premier, again putting two impressive performances and also scoring four goals in each game, to go top in the Scorers list.

In both games Melita dominated for long streches. Targa Gap and Zurrieq Wolves although they tried hard, they could not keep up the pace.
