MARSA BEAT CHAMPIONS TO GO TOP

In the Mapfre/MSVLife Masters Premier League Marsa White Stars Barilla won their third consecutive game after beating champions Mosta 13-8 to go top of the table.

Putting the result apart, it was not an easy game and Marsa had to produce their best.They possess a strong team and although the road to the end is still far away, they must be considered as title contenders.

With this win, Marsa is at the top of the league with maximum points from three games. Early after the start,

Mosta scored twice, but soon after Marsa managed to get a draw before the change of ends. In the second half, they were a bit better and they were always infront 7-5, 9-6 and 10-7 and in counter attacks they got three goals to kill all hopes for Mosta.

The pick for Marsa were the foreigner Alexander Ribic and Gilbert Scerri, whilst goalkeeper Georege Edwards distinguised himself with some spectacular saves.

After losiing to Marsa, DINGLI DESANA returned to winning ways when they beat neighbours RABAT 11-5. Dingli went up to second place in the standings, together with Wardija.

Dingli were superior all over, and Simon Shield was the player that had an excellent performance, also scoring a record seven goals. Rabat tried, but they rely too much on the ability if Chris Muscat who usually is given great attention by any opponents.

In CISK Masters Division One League, Targa Gap overcome the challenge of ZURRIEQ WOLVES 6-5 in an open game. In the second half Zurrieq Wolves were a better team and deserved at least a draw.

However they found themselvs very much surprised playing against such strong opponents. They tried their best, but they lost too many chances and were also dened by goalkeeper Mark Aquilina with some good saves.

Stephen Price the foreigner of Targa Gap was voted as the best player.
