VALLETTA, JIVAL LEAD THE WAY

In the last serious of games of Masters Football these included three games of the Cisk Masters Division One League, in which Valletta and Jival again won to lead the way in the standings with maximum points.

VALLETTA again confirmed that they possess a good strong team. They beat another interesting team, Melita 6-3.

There was a balanced first half, and Valletta t0ok their chances to lead 2-0. After the break , the game was open to any result.

Up to the last 12 minutes Valletta had a 4-3 advantage, with Melita doing all the pressure to save the game. However, they found difficulty to pass the strong defence of Valleta, who then in counter attacks they scored twice to make sure of the three points.

JIVAL also won their third consecutive game to share the top spot with Valletta in the standing. In difficult game they managed to beat ZABBAR 4-2. In the first half Jival were leading with an ‘auto goal’ by Mark Pullicino.

In the second half, they played much better and they took a lead of 3-1 However, Zabbar were still there, coming near to 3-2,only to suffer an unfortunate goal in the last minutes.

TARGA GAP registered their first win after beating Tal-QROQQ 11-8, Tal-Qroqq remained with one poin in the standing. Targa Gap finished the first half leading 3-1, after Tal-Qroqq had opened the score. After the break, Targa Gap were superior and were in control all the way.

It was late in the game that Tal-Qroqq scored three goals but unfortunately for them it was too late to save the game.
