SAMBA DOUBLE AS GZIRA REMAIN PERFECT

Tounkara Samba scored a double as Gzira United beat St. Andrews 3-2 on Sunday to maintain their perfect start and stay top of the Premier League.

St. Andrews broke the deadlock after 13 minutes into the match when Aidan Friggieri beat the Marrons goalkeeper Curmi but on 32 minutes Gzira leveled the matters thanks to Tounkara Samba.

After the break on 51 minutes Gzira went into the lead when Tounkara Samba scored his second of the afternoon, while five minutes later opened a two-goal lead when they were given a penaltu from which Amadou Samb made no mistake.

On 72 minutes the Saints reduced the arrears when they were also awarded a penalty from which Jospeh Farrugia beat the Maroons custodian.
