There was an interesting start in both championships that the Masters Association is holding this season, a good indication that all teams prepared well.

Besides, the introduction of a foreign player gave the teams a boost and should make play more attractive.

In the MAPFRE/MSV Life MASTERS PREMIER LEAGUE, WARDIJA gave an impressive show when they beat strong opponents RABAT MASTERS 8-4.They have a squad of some interesting players and as a team showed good coordinatiion.

William Barbosa, well known in Maltese football, had an excellent debut in Masters football and was a costructive defender for Wardija. Rabat were not so much inferior and had some good and unlucky moments with Christian Muscat scoring two and being dangerous in every move.

In another game, we had a lively show by both teams, with MARSA WHITE STARS winning against B’KARA MASTERS 4-2. Up to the end of the first half, Marsa were leading 3-0, but then B’Kara made a strong reaction.

They lowered the score twice and were denied on several occasions by goalkeeper George Edwrds. However Marsa held on to register their first win.

In the Cisk MASTERS DIVISION ONE LEAGUE, VALLETA ST. PAULI had a good start beating new team TARGA GAP 7-2. Valletta seemed well prepared and their new signing Jonathan Buttigieg had a positive start, also scoring a hat-trick.
