DINGLI AND MOSTA REACH LAST FOUR

Dingli Desana and champions Mosta Shaggy’s reached the Tools Planet pre-season tournament after beating Valletta St. Pauli and Tal-Qroqq respectively.

With both teams short of some of their regular players, Desana dominated for long periods with Malcolm Licari giving a good performance and score four.

Valletta had some good moments, but they lost some good chances and also being denied by some good saves of goalkeeper Etiene Scicluna.

But Valleta with what we have seen so far should do well in the Division One League whilst Desana with their full strength will again be a very hard team to beat,

Classical and an exciting game was that in which champions MOSTA SHAGGY’S had to use all their experience to beat the strong team of TAL-QROQQ.

Two goals in the last thirteen minutes saved the day for Mosta. It is true that they had some regulars missing, but their play was short of good collective moves. They struggled to find the net and there was Tal-Qroqq goalkeeper with some good saves.

All in all, their failure was due to the encouraging display by TAL-QROOQ who surprised everybody. They were in the lead at half time 5-4 and 7-6 with thirteen minutes left and were unlucky to suffer two goals in a desperate effort by Mosta in the last minutes.
