HIBS SOAR TO SUMMIT

Hibernians climbed to the top of the Premier League after their 3-0 win over bottom side Pembroke Athleta, while Valletta defeated Balzan Youths 1-0 on Friday.

The Paolites went into the lead just eight minutes into the match wheb Brazilian striker Jorginho Pereira Da Silva beat the Athleta’s goalkeeper.

After the break on 64 minutes Hibernians doubled their lead when Jurgen Degabriele scored his 13th league goal this season.

On 84 minutes the Paolites wrapped up the three points when Dejan Boljevic grabbed Mark Miller’s side third of the evening.

Valletta 1-0 Balzan Y.

The Citizens broke the deadlock on 20 minutes when Umeh Uchenna Calistus crossed to the unmarked Romeu Pericles Romao, who with a hard drive shot past goalkeeper Ivan Janjusevic.

On 84 minutes Balzan finished with ten man when Anderson Francisco De Barros was shown his second yellow card and so was sent off.
