VICTORIA FAIRYTALE CONTINUES

SK Victoria Wanderers became the first Gozitan club to reach the semi-finals of the FA Trophy after beating Pembroke Athleta 2-0 at the Gozo Stadium on Sunday.

Besides, the Wanderers have already made history by becoming also the first Gozitan club to reach the quarter-finals of this competition, when in the fourth round Mark Buttigieg’s side beat St. Andrews 1-0.

The Gozitans broke the deadlock on 28 minutes when Miguel Attard inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

Meanwhile four minutes after the break the Wanderers doubled their lead when Predrag Djordjevic beat Pembroke’s goalkeeper Matthew Calleja Cremona.
