TRIO REACH SEMI FINAL

The Masters Knock-Out got underway with the quarter-finals, in which Desana made a good start forward for the league and cup double, when they beat Rabat 4-3 in one of the best games of the season.

At the beginning both teams did not risk much and relied mainly on counter attacks. It was Desana that opened the score after 15 minutes by Jeffrey Gauci who had a very impressive game scoring the four goals of his team.

Chis Muscat of Rabat was not his usual self and his mistake in defence lead to the opening goal. Rabat got the draw after two minutes with a beauty from Jeffrey Zammit direct from a freekick.

The first half ended 2-2. After the break, Desana started well taking a two goal advantage, but from then onwords Rabat created some very good scoring moves, but they were denied by the well organised defence of Desana and by the good goalkeeping of Etienne Scicluna. Rabat managed to get one goal, but they could not get the draw they richly deserved.

Jivl suprised Mosta Shaggy to win 8-7 in another tense game and undecided until the end. Jival played one of their best games.

On the other hand Mosta disappointed and played the game with a limited number of players. Up to the end of the first half the score was 4-3 with Jival leading.

Although Mosta played better in the second half and seemed that they could manage to save the game, they still found Jival determined and the latter gave all to keep the upperhand up to the end to win a place in the semi final.

In the other game we had, Zurrieq Wolves register an easy win against Versity 10-3 to reach the semi final. For the winners, Mario Camilleri and Robert Magro had a good game scoring five goals between them.

The first half was a disaster for Versity when they could not get going and Zurrieq took an advantage if 5-0. After the break Versity opened well and managed to get the score down to 5-2.

However Zurrieq very soon came back to take the initiative once again and win easily scoring another five goals.
