HEARN URGES WILDER TO 'SIGN THE CONTRACT' AFTER LATEST OUTBURST

Eddie Hearn responded to Deontay Wilder's latest outburst by accusing the WBC champion of lying and urging him to sign a contract for a heavyweight unification fight with Anthony Joshua.

Wilder unleashed a tirade of abuse at Joshua on Tuesday after it emerged the Brit had been ordered to accept a bout for a mandatory defence of his WBA belt against Alexander Povetkin.

The American was back on social media again a day later to state that a blockbuster bout with Joshua will not be happening as the WBA, IBF, IBO and WBO is "terrified" of him and accused the 2012 Olympic champion and his team of wasting his time.

Wilder tweeted that he had been offered: "Something that's equivalent to a pack of peanuts and load bread and a jar of honey."

He continued: "My team and I bent over backwards. Accepting everything they threw at us just to find out this boy is "terrified of me"

"Three months of tea parties by grown men didn't even have British hospitality and offer biscuits with tea."

Hearn, Joshua's promoter, replied along with a lying face emoji: "Sign the contract."

Povetkin's promoter, Andrey Ryabinsky, on Wednesday stated that a deal for the Russian to fight Joshua is "very close" and believes it will be "the best in the heavyweight division".
