MAYWEATHER FIRES BACK AT MCGREGOR

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has fired back at Conor McGregor, telling him to take care of his business if he really wants the much-hyped mega-fight between the pair to go ahead.

Following rumours a deal had been agreed for the pair's potential cross-combat fight on Tuesday, Mayweather insisted he remains "happily retired and enjoying life", stressing no agreements have been reached.

And after UFC fighter McGregor swiftly responded with an Instagram post that mocked Mayweather and featuring him sitting on a throne, the undefeated American was quick to hit back again.

Mayweather wrote on Twitter: "Listen, Conor McGregor, if you really want to get this fight done… take care of your business with the UFC and then have your people get in touch with my people."

The 39-year-old, who retired in 2015 with a record of 49 victories from as many fights, recently spoke of his confidence that the fight would happen, while McGregor – the first UFC fighter in history to hold belts in two weight divisions at the same time - is also optimistic.

The Irishman expects the bout to be worth $1billion once terms have been finalised.
