CHISORA HURLS TABLE AT WHYTE

A press conference for the British Heavyweight title fight between Dereck Chisora and Dillian Whyte descended into farce when the challenger hurled a table towards the champion on Wednesday.

It is no secret that there is no love lost between the London rivals and the feud escalated once again three days before the duo step into the ring in Manchester.

Chisora slammed his fist onto a table before rising to toss the furniture in the direction of Whyte, sitting five seats down the line, after the pair traded verbals.

Security staff stepped in to restrain Chisora, who also had plenty to say to Whyte's trainer, Mark Tibbs.

Promoter Eddie Hearn later revealed that the two fighters will weigh in separately on the eve of the bout - which is on the undercard for the IBF Heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina.

Before seeing the table come his way, Whyte said: "Me and Dereck both know [what would happen] if we were left in a room with no security. When I stepped to him and threw punches, he was scared.

"You have two security guards and they both got manhandled. You lost the battle already. In the Sky studios, you cowered away. The man bit me on my chest, who does that?

"I squared up, moving my head, expecting him to throw punches, and he didn't do anything."

Chisora had warned his opponent: "This is how it is, man. I do what I want, when I want. He might want to box instructions but I don't want to, I want to drag him into the deep end. Are you sure you want to kick off right now, because if you want to, it can."
